Le mie giornate negli ultimi mesi sono state davvero elettrizzanti: un emozione dopo l’altra senza avere mai il tempo di rendermi conto effettivamente di quanto tutto ciò sia speciale. Sono molto grata di tutto quello che mi sta accandendo in questi mesi e voglio condividerlo con voi, chissà magari questa felicità è contagiosa!
Lo scorso venerdi è arrivato per la prima volta in Italia il sig. Lazaro Perez designer internazionale per il brand che porta il suo nome Lazaro Bridals. Il Signor Lazaro oltre ad essere alla sua prima visita in Italia era allo stesso tempo alla sua visita in Europa e mi sono sentita onorata di poterlo accogliere e guidare in questo w-end milanese. Ma com’è il signor Lazaro? Una persona dotata di una grande sensibilità e di uno stupefacente carisma, un uomo che soprattutto mi ha colpito per la sua grande umanità e per il suo cuore immenso. Una sensazione quasi a pelle, in grado di farti sentire fin da subito veramente a tuo agio.
Il primo incontro è stato un po’ imbarazzante: mi trovavo nell’atelier Le Spose di Milano per un meeting conoscitivo con Mr. Lazaro Perez e Mr. Ray Lowbridge, responsabile commerciale europeo dell’azienda JLM Couture che gestisce il marchio Lazaro Bridals. Ci trovavamo al primo piano dove si trovano gli spazi dedicati agli abiti Couture e non riuscivo a guardare Lazaro perchè ero completamente accecata dal sole che entrava dalla finestra della sala, ai miei occhi è sembrata quasi un apparizione divina! Per fortuna l’ironia anglosassone di Ray mi ha subito riportata con i piedi per terra, mi sentivo un po’ in una di quelle situazioni alla Bridget Jones. Ray è una persona davvero pragmatica, un gran lavoratore e molto discreto, almeno all’inizio quando non lo conosci bene. Poi per fortuna è un po’ come me, non riesce a nascondere quello che pensa per cui sicuramente con una persona cosi non c’è rischio di perdere tempo, si è efficienti ed efficaci!
Dopo un tardo pomeriggio dedicato alla presentazione alla stampa dell’evento Italian Wedding style in cui siamo soprattutto riusciti ad apprezzare la passione di Elisabetta Cardani per suo lavoro e la sua bella Italia, siamo riusciti a trascorrere una bella serata a cena e qui abbiamo avuto un po’ di tempo per parlare della sua vita e della sua carriera.
Lazaro nasce a Cuba e da bambino si trasferisce con la famiglia negli Usa, la madre insegnava design della moda e fin da subito ha amato questo ambiente (chi come lui nella moda ci nasce non ha la necessità di darsi arie, è semplicemente una spanna avanti agli altri e la cosa è cosi evidente che quasi la dai per scontata! Poi al trunk show vedere con quale semplicità e amore disegnava i bozzetti per le sue spose, mi ha lasciato davver senza parole!).
Ma ritorniamo ai racconti di Lazaro, il suo talento è visibile già durante gli studi tanto che vince un concorso nazionale presso il Ray College of Design di Chicago che lo fa arrivare fino a New York dove lavora prima per Galina-Bouquet e poi per Richard Glasgow’s Riccio collection. A metà degli anni ’90 entra in JLM Couture e il sodalizio continua ormai da 23 anni. Una carriera costellata di successi e di grandi emozioni che però non hanno mai cambiato lo splendido carattere del signor Lazaro che ancora si emoziona e condivide la gioia della scelta dell’abito delle sue clienti, è successo anche qui a Milano dove durante il trunk show alcune ragazze fortunatissime hanno avuto la possibilità di essere seguite direttamente dallo stilista nella scelta dell’abito e alle quali è stato regalato un bozzetto realizzato dell’abito scelto.
Trascorrere questi tre giorni con lui è stato un po’ stancante da una parte, ma davvero una grande fonte d’ispirazione per il mio lavoro. Dopo un emozionante shooting tra il Duomo e la Galleria Vittorio Emanuele (la nostra bellissima modella Ludovica e il nostro fotografo Paolo) e un intera giornata tra sfilate e prove all’interno dell’atelier che ha ospitato il trunk show (Le spose di Milano in piazza Principessa Clotilde a Milano) posso solo dire che l’abbraccio finale con lo stilista e l’infinita stima che ho nei suoi confronti sono davvero sentiti e ha reso queste intense giornate di lavoro davvero fantastiche. Le sue creazioni da favola sono davvero frutto dell’estro di uno stilista eccelso che con la sua grande sensibilità riesce a valorizzare la femminilità delle donne di tutto il mondo.
Se potessi riassumerti in un aforisma saresti sicuramente questo: “If a man speaks or acts with a pure thought, happiness follows him like a shadow that never leaves him”.

I‘m really lucky because my recent months have been very exciting: I have realized many projects in a relly short period without having the time to realize how everything is happening is so special! I am very grateful for this months of hardwork and I want to share some of my experiences with you my readers, who knows maybe this happiness is contagious!
Last Friday has arrived for the first time in Italy, Mr. Lazaro Perez international designers for the brand Lazaro Bridals. Mr. Lazaro besides being his first visit to Italy was at the same time to his visit to Europe and I felt honored to welcome him and drive through this w-end in Milan. My opinion on Mr. Lazaro after this italian full immersion? A person with a great feeling and an amazing charisma, a man who particularly impressed me with his great humanity and for his huge heart.
The first meeting was a bit ‘embarrassing: I was at the atelier Le Spose di Milano for the first meeting with Mr. Lazaro Perez and Mr. Ray Lowbridge, European sales manager of JLM Couture, the company that manages the Lazaro Bridals brand. We were on the first floor where there are the spaces dedicated to Couture dresses and I could not look at Mr Lazaro because I was completely blinded by the sun coming through the window of the room, at my eyes seemed almost a divine apparition! Fortunately Ray Anglo irony brought me back immediately to the real life, I felt a little ‘in one of those situations that only “Mrs Bridget Jones” can understand. I got to know a little bit also of Mr Ray, and I can tell that is a very pragmatic person, a hard worker and very discreet, at least in the beginning when you do not know him well. Then, fortunately, is a bit ‘like me, he is a really communicative person and he usually doesn’t hide what he thinks so surely with someone like him there is no risk of losing time, it is efficient and effective!
After a late afternoon dedicated to the presentation to the press event Italian Wedding Style, in which we are particularly able to appreciate Elizabetta Cardani passion for his work and her country, we were able to spend a nice evening at dinner, and here we had a bit ‘of time to talk about Lazaro’s life and career.
Lazaro was born in Cuba and as a child he moved with his family to the US, his mother taught fashion design and immediately loved this environment. His talent is visible already during his studies so that he won a national competition at the Ray College of Design in Chicago that makes him reach New York where he worked first for Galina-Bouquet and then for Richard Glasgow’s Riccio collection. In the mid-90s he entered JLM Couture and now this partnership continued for 23 years. A career full of successes and excitement but they never changed the nature of Mr. Lazaro who still gets excited and shares the joy of his brides when they choose their wedding gowns. It also has happened here in Milan where during the trunk show somevery lucky girls had the opportunity to be directly followed by the designer and had the opportunity to have a sketch of the chosen gown.
These days had been a bit stressfull on one hand, but really a great source of inspiration for my work. After an exciting shooting between the Duomo and the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele (with our beautiful model Ludovica and our photographer Paolo) and a full day of trunk show and dress rehearsal, I can only say that the final embrace with the designer and the infinite esteem I have for him are really felt and made these intense days of work really fantastic. Its fabulous creations are the result of the designer excellence: with his great sensitivity is able to enhance the femininity of women all over the world.
If I could summerise in an aphorism Mr Lazaro I would surely say this: “If a man speaks or acts with a pure thought, happiness follows him like a shadow that never leaves him.”
